1. Who we are
MiniShomiWorld (the "Service") is run by Pain Point Technologies Co., Ltd. (痛點科技股份有限公司) (business ID 62152635, address: 5F-3, No. 45-1, Chang'an West Road, Taipei, phone: +886 2-2556-6810; "we", "the Company"). The Service is an ongoing story website about a tiny family. Members can read it, support story proposals with "magic", submit story directions, and the story system adapts them into what happens next.
2. Accounts
- You sign in with LINE, Google or a code sent to your e-mail; there are no passwords. Give correct details and keep your LINE and Google accounts and your e-mail inbox safe.
- Before an account is created you must read and accept these terms (including the assignment of rights in section 7) and the privacy policy; without accepting them no account can be created. The first time you sign in you also set a public name and state your age. Until then you can look around, but you can't buy, subscribe, imbue, create, submit or link social accounts.
- One person, one account. Accounts can't be transferred, rented out or shared. Signing in with a different method may create a different account.
- Anyone of any age can use the Service; under-18s need the consent of a parent or legal guardian before using it or buying anything. You state this the first time you sign in and confirm it at checkout. Age is self-declared.
- You can ask to delete your account at any time from "My account"; section 9 describes how.
3. Magic (virtual points)
- "Magic" is a virtual point that can only be used for features inside the Service (submitting stories, imbuing stories with magic and so on). It is not money, can't be exchanged for cash and can't be transferred to other members, and it earns no interest.
- Magic comes from three sources, kept in separate accounts: magic you buy, the monthly magic for Companion members, and magic from social interaction (once the social features are open).
- There is a cap on spendable magic: 300 for free accounts, 800 for Companions. Magic above the cap goes to "pending"; it never expires and moves in by itself when there is room.
- Level experience, magic and payment records are three separate ledgers. Levels and badges can't be exchanged for magic or cash.
- The Service's ledger is the record of your magic. You can see every change in "My account".
4. Paid plans and prices
| Plan | Price (NT$) | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Companion, monthly subscription | 199 a month | 100 magic each period; you can submit stories and use Companion features |
| Magic top-up, 200 | 499 | One-off |
| Magic top-up, 600 (co-creation pack) | 1,299 | One-off |
- Prices include sales tax. After payment, the payment service Recur issues an e-invoice.
- Payments are handled by third-party payment services (Recur / PAYUNi). The Service doesn't store your full card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel at any time; after cancelling you keep your benefits until the end of the period you paid for, and you aren't charged again.
- Price changes are announced in advance and apply from the next billing period.
5. Refunds
- You can cancel a subscription at any time: you keep your benefits until the end of the period you paid for, and billing stops at the end of it.
- Payments made and magic bought are not refunded; you agree to this with a checkbox at checkout.
- If a system error on our side charges you twice or doesn't credit your magic, we handle it case by case.
- Magic returned for story submissions and imbuing follows the rules in section 6 and has nothing to do with money refunds.
6. Submissions and story co-creation
- Companions can submit story directions; each submission costs 50 magic. Submissions go through an automatic safety review. Every registered account can imbue stories with magic; free accounts can put at most 20 magic into each story, Companions have no such limit.
- A submission that passes review collects magic publicly for 30 days. Other members (and you) can imbue it; once it reaches its goal, it is sent to the story system. The goal starts at 30 magic and rises by 5% (rounded up) after each story that is activated.
- "Casting a spell" means AI rewrites your story and at the same time estimates its effect on the Banyan Glow family's resources (water, food, materials, medical supplies, happiness), each from −4 to +4, which may be negative. Each spell may give a different rewrite and different effects. The effects are applied only when the story is officially adopted; the numbers are decided by the system from the story and can't be changed.
- What comes back:
| Case | Author | Members who imbued |
|---|---|---|
| Didn't pass review | 45 magic back (10% fee) | — |
| Missed the goal in 30 days | 45 magic back | 50% of what they put in (rounded up) |
| Stopped by the story system for breaking the world's rules | 45 magic back | All of it back |
| Withdrawn by the author before adoption | 45 magic back | All of it back |
| System or production failure, cancelled by us | All 50 magic back | All of it back |
- A story direction can't be withdrawn once the story system has adopted it.
- Reaching the goal, adoption or publication doesn't mean the story appears exactly as written: the story system adapts it to fit the world.
- Thank-yous: when your submission or item becomes a post, the caption ends with a thank-you line and the official account leaves a comment in which the story's lead character thanks you, both with your public name. With "Thank-you comments" set to "Tag me" (the default), both places @-tag the Instagram / Threads account you linked and confirmed. You can switch to "Name only" or "Anonymous" in "Account settings", or choose anonymous for a single story or item; when anonymous, neither place mentions you.
6a. Social magic
- Members (free and Companion) get a "follow spell" in "My cottage › Social magic". Commenting the spell under any post of MiniShomi's official Instagram or Threads, or sending it in a message to the official TikTok account @minishomi, links your account on that platform (Instagram, Threads and TikTok are linked separately).
- Once linked, commenting or replying under an official post earns magic once per post, and once per story when the same story is posted on several accounts or platforms (for example the Chinese Instagram and the English TikTok): 1 for free accounts, 3 for Companions, up to 5 posts a day. The comment with the spell counts too. For free accounts, social magic and bought magic together are capped at 300 spendable.
- Tagging a friend (@their account) in a comment on an official post earns extra tagging magic: 2 for free accounts, 5 for Companions; once per post (once per story), each friend counts once, up to 3 times a day. Tagging MiniShomi's official accounts or yourself doesn't count. We only keep a code that can't be reversed, used to tell whether you tagged the same friend before, not your friend's account name.
- Comments you left on official Instagram, Threads or TikTok posts before linking are counted when you link that platform with the follow spell: only comments from the 7 days before linking, with the rules of item 2 (once per post, once per story, up to 5 posts a day). Tagging friends isn't counted retroactively.
- Likes, shares, tags in stories and tags in your own posts can't be traced to you and don't count; Facebook isn't included; comments on short videos (Reels, TikTok videos and other posts we mark as short videos) don't count. How fast magic arrives depends on the platform: usually within seconds on Instagram, about 5 minutes on Threads and TikTok.
- You may only link your own accounts and only tag real friends who agree to be tagged. If you link someone else's account or use several accounts, mass tagging or automation to get points, the Service may take back the points and suspend the account.
6b. The Mosin-a's Stall, items and collectible cards
- "The Mosin-a's Stall" is open only at set night-time hours; the website shows the actual hours. The kinds and numbers of items on each member's shelf are drawn at random every night and don't change during that night; once an item is sold out, it's gone.
- Items are bought with magic and go into your inventory "sealed". When you open one, our server draws the result with cryptographic randomness using the odds published at that time; there are no re-draws. The odds are published in the item details at the stall and in the World Wiki, and every opening records the odds version used. When the odds change, we publish a new version; results already opened aren't affected.
- Pity rule: for calling items (Forest whistle, Moonlight bell, Ancient horn), in every 10 opened, if the first 9 gave nothing Super rare or better, the 10th is Super rare or better.
- Items you can "use" (visits, troubles, seeds) go to the story system, which adapts them into a story of the Banyan Glow family that is published. The story system adapts the story to fit the world; no particular plot is guaranteed. Effects follow the published effect table. Using an item can't be undone; if the story system can't complete the story, the item comes back to your inventory. "Trouble" items lower the family's resources for a while and happen later, when the story system's timing rules allow. A charm automatically protects against the next trouble that happens; you can't choose which.
- Collectible cards have no story effect. They go into your collection book and take no inventory slot. A duplicate card turns into "glow shards", which can only be exchanged inside the Service for a Common or Rare card you don't have yet. A card marked "One of a kind" exists only once in the whole world; the first member to draw it gets it, and that member's public name is shown in the collection book.
- Inventory size: 20 slots for free members, 40 for Companions. When the inventory is full you can't buy or open items that need a free slot. Items given for levels, badges, events and so on are held for 4 days when your inventory is full; if room opens in that time, they move in by themselves in the order you received them, and after 4 days without room they disappear. When Companion membership ends, items already in your inventory are not removed.
- Items, collectible cards and glow shards are virtual goods inside the Service. They can't be refunded, transferred, sold or exchanged for cash. If the Service ends, unused bought magic is handled as in section 10.
- Item stories and stories submitted by members are different kinds: the collection, goal and refund rules of section 6 don't apply to item stories, and the fairness principle for proposals described in the World Wiki applies only to story directions written by members.
7. Rights in your work and intellectual property
- All intellectual property in the Service — the world, the characters (including the Banyan Glow family), names, images, videos, the story system, the website and its content — belongs to the Company. Members create by using the system the Company provides.
- You assign to the Company, from the moment it is created, the whole of the economic copyright in everything you create or generate in the Service. This includes the story text you enter, the versions rewritten by "casting a spell", your choice of characters and lead character, preview images, submission titles and story directions, and the official stories, images, videos and social posts the Company makes from them. The Company may use them freely, without limits of territory, time, manner or number of times (including reproducing, adapting, editing, publicly transmitting, publishing, commercial use and sublicensing), without further notice or any payment.
- You agree not to exercise your moral rights against the Company or anyone it authorises (including the rights to publish, to be named and to object to improper changes). The Company will still show the author as anonymous or by your public name, as you chose when submitting.
- You promise that what you submit is your own original work, infringes no one's rights, and that you haven't granted or assigned rights in the same content to anyone else. If a third party claims rights, you deal with it and keep the Company free from harm.
- For members under 18, this assignment needs the consent of a parent or legal guardian; you state that you have it the first time you sign in.
- This section stays in force after your account is deleted; rights already assigned don't come back when the account is deleted.
8. Rules of use
Don't: pretend to be someone else, operate in bulk by automation, interfere with the system, exploit bugs to get magic, submit illegal, hateful, sexual, violent or infringing content, or try to get other members' data. If you break these rules, the Service may stop the features involved and take back magic and levels gained by breaking them; in serious cases it may close the account.
9. Deleting your account
- You can ask for deletion in "My account". After you send the request there are 7 days to change your mind, during which you can cancel it.
- After that we delete: your name and e-mail are removed; your submissions still collecting magic are cancelled and everyone who imbued them gets all of it back; remaining magic and submission fees are not refunded; content already sent to the story system belongs to the Company under section 7 and stays, but no longer shows your name.
- If you have an active subscription, we cancel it too. See the privacy policy for details.
10. Changes to and end of the Service
The Service may pause for maintenance, redesign or force majeure. If the Service ends for good, we will announce it at least 30 days ahead and refund unused bought magic, in proportion to the unused points, to the original payment method.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, the Service is not liable for indirect losses. For damage caused by something the Service is responsible for, compensation is capped at the amount you actually paid in the past 12 months. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
12. Changes to these terms
Changes are announced on the website. For major changes we also notify you and ask you to read and accept the terms again the next time you sign in; if you don't accept, you can't keep using member features.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). The Taiwan Shilin District Court is the court of first instance.
